Truth

Well, I tried to make it Sunday, but I got so damn depressed
That I set my sights on Monday and I got myself undressed
I ain’t ready for the altar but I do agree there’s times
When a woman sure can be a friend of mine
Well, I keep on thinkin’ ’bout you
Sister Golden Hair surprise
And I just can’t live without you
Can’t you see it in my eyes?
I’ve been one poor correspondent
And I’ve been too, too hard to find
But it doesn’t mean you ain’t been on my mind
Will you meet me in the middle?
Will you meet me in the air?
Will you love me just a little?
Just enough to show you care?
Well, I tried to fake it
I don’t mind sayin’, I just can’t make it

Yup. I’m “going to camp” in about a week, writing in the July 2022 Camp NANOWRIMO. This time I’ll be working on 30 entries for a private memoir of my childhood for my kiddos (ergo, the 1975 VW Bus). This will be a fun project and I am looking forward to it!
It seems that the inspiration for my characters for the novel I am writing is coming more from memes like this than music.
Writing along. 15 words at a time. 15 becomes 70 becomes 100, becomes 300? Here we go! I’m not really having writer’s block so much as I am trying to withstand what my character is facing internally, while on the exterior, everything falls apart. And yet there is one constant that keeps him going. His loyal dog, Addie. Someone to love. Someone to look forward to seeing and spending time with. Someone to share the goodness in life. This is a saving grace for this character. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
A happy Friday to you and a good weekend, too!
This is something Joe will discover in the next book.
