I’m Back

Q: What was the moment when you realized that you should be a writer? Not just wanting to be, but that moment that said “yes, this needs to happen”. The eureka moment.

A: When I was a sophomore in high school (37 years ago!). It was then validated my first year in college when I discovered I could major in Creative Writing. Never looked back though my life twisted and turned in some horrible ways. I survived. I’m here. I’m writing again.

  1. I’ve been writing since I was in jr. high, but I stopped writing when my full time job took over in my twenties and then becoming a mom. I got back into it a year and a half ago and I can not express the amount of joy and fulfillment it brings to me. Nothing makes me feel more like my true self than when I am writing.

    • Jennifer, isn’t that the truth! I started with my 100 Word Challenges in the last few years. That’s helped me awaken as a writer again. There were some expected and unexpected horrible turns my life took starting eleven years ago and it just took a good, long time to heal. But now the words are churning again. I joined The Writing Tribe on FaceBook about six months ago. It’s very encouraging and they welcome writers of all places on the writing spectrum. They even have Zoom meet-ups for discussions (you can participate or just listen) and writing sprints. I haven’t tried the latter, but the former has been a boon. It feels. so. good. to hang with writers!! I’m not alone. 🙂

Here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheWritingTribe It’s a private group, but it’s no problem getting in. You will be welcomed with open arms.

      Glad to hear from you!
